Nevada heads towards where Guarda-3's corpse is and ducks down.

"Hey, you out there! We got a robocop in here, could use some support!"

Norum knows that the AP shells aren't doing much and fired off two scatter rounds to try and suppress the bot as it might try to unjam it's gun. The forget is this thing?!

This is the Turing Automata Semiautonomous Police Unit Model 5 Series 8 (SAPU M5 Ser. 8) These police robots are employed by the Salus Police Precincts to augment their officers' abilities. They are employed primarily to deal with crowds, civil protection incidents, and special police actions. They are occasionally found working with traffic enforcement and beat cops. Rarely are these machines involved in community policing due to their unsettling nature. SAPUs are also employed by the Midtown Police Precincts, Chinatown Police Precinct, and Saint Carmichael Police Precincts. All other districts have a small inventory of up to a dozen units that are usually used for conducting dangerous raids. Police precincts often give their SAPUs names.

SAPUs boast considerable strength beyond that of normal police or civilians, as well as highly acute hearing and sight. SAPUs also have superhuman endurance, and exceptional aim with firearms. They are particularly adept at hand-to-hand fighting due to their exceptional strength and agility.

The SAPU M5 Ser. 8 has a standing height of 188cm [6'2] and weighs 130kg [286lbs].

A sister model of robot is utilized by fire and search and rescue services.

Nevada pops up and takes aim at the SAPU.

Norum winces and fires another AP Sabot before hunkering down.

She narrowly misses her target. The cabinets behind the SAPU are holed by the attack.

Burke follows up with an aimed full-auto attack.

The SAPU is struck with overwhelming fire. Its arm is cleaved off by fire, and it drops its gun. The machine however, still appears functional, if only just.

The SAPU grabs its gun and hunkers down.

"SAP Unit distress communications detected. Local police bands jammed." Everybody's VI avatar reports.

Norum crawls up to the front of the closet near the entrance of the kitchen.

Nevada climbs on top of the fridge and fires a full-auto burst into the SAPU.

Sabine lands every shot expertly. The SAPU can no longer withstand the fire, it has its other arm cleaved off and the other two rounds penetrate the body. There is a bright flash as the SAPU's batteries are damaged and spark and smolder in the air. The unit ceases to move.

"Got heem!" Sabine reports.

"SAP Unit telemetry lost." The VI avatar reports.

Burke lowers his gun. The only sound left now is the mortally wounded Guarda starting to come to his senses.

"Roight. Ah'll call it en," Burke replies. He turns and begins talking to someone over the radio. His voice has a notable Irish accent.

Sabine turns her attention to Norum and Nevada. Her voice is laden with a French accent.

"You should 'ave called eet een faster-"

Her words are lost to Burke's gunfire as he shoots and kills the SWAT Officer, who was trying to aim his handgun. She instinctively brings her weapon back to up and leans in against the closet.

"Sorry about dat," Burke calls, "Hay's dead now,"

Sabine rights herself and looks at Norum's arm.

"You are bleeding. Dere ees a spare first aid keet een deh truck,"
« Last Edit: August 19, 2018, 11:03:42 PM by Mr. Hurricane »

Norum blinks and looks up, rising to his feet, still jarred by all the noise. "Right. Can we get this guy outta the cuffs?" Norum asks, gesturing with his head at a Dan who probably soiled himself.

He loads the spare ammo to replenish what was lost, loading some of the scatter ammo last in the AP side if there's not enough AP to load. He then clears the gun and switches on the safety, letting it simply hang by the strap sling around his shoulder.

Sabine shakes her head.

"He's going do go weeth deh preesoners. Deh MPs weell sort heem out,"

"Hey Savy, medic and MPs are hare now. The CO wants us to rejoin the convo when it passes. Way got abaout five mikes. Dey want us to bring thayse two with us," Burke interrupts.

"Where are day going to?"

"To secure a crossing o'er the river in the Providence district,"

Sabine looks to Norum and Nevada.

"We have supplies een deh truck eef you need. Are you coming weeth us?"

Norum looks to Nevada, trying to read her expression, displaying a neutral one in return, before returning, "We'll go with. We're already in way over our heads."

Why the hell did I come back to life and get a second chance? I should've been dead...

Music
Music is Elite Dangerous Low Intensity Engagement Section 4

The ISAF soldiers lead the group outside. You are met with a world of eerie stillness, but faintly in the distance, coming closer, and then right overhead is a smallish two engine aircraft. ISAF is inscribed on the bottom of its wings, and the hull below the roosterpit is embellished with nose art but it is difficult to make out. It is packed to the gills with ordnance. There is a heavily armored vehicle in the now deserted parking lot of the apartment. A rumble grows in the distance, and passing before you comes a tank, crawling its way up the road. It is adorned with angry faces spray painted onto the reactive armor bricks. The bore evacuator reads one word: MOTHERforgetER.

"Shet! Way gonna be late!" Burke yells over the din of the tank, "Get in de cah!"

Sabine hops in the drivers seat as similarly armored vehicles roll past in pursuit of the tank. Burke rushes Norum and Nevada into the vehicle's back door.

"Way got supplies in hare for you to use. And you-"

Burke throws a military helmet at Norum.

"Put this shet on, or ya gonna have a bad taime," he says, pointing to a full set of military grade armor.

Burke climbs into the vehicle now.

"Now, anay questions abaout what way're gonna do?"
« Last Edit: August 22, 2018, 11:11:53 PM by Mr. Hurricane »

"Yeah uh... What're we fighting?", Ryde says, rifle in hand.

Norum catches the helmet and takes off his own. He straps on the new helmet and boards the MRAP.

"Yeah uh... What're we fighting?", Ryde says, rifle in hand.

"Infantry, possibly armored vehicles. Way've got momentum but way need to secure a bridge across the river so the enemy can't stall us. They've already taken down highway crossings but they probably can't blow all bridges and leave the city in a quickly. Way've got a tank for fire support, and an attack aircraft. The rest of this platoon will be supporting attacking the bridges north and south of our bridge, so everyone will be in about a half mile area. Downside is they know way're comin' so they are likely prepared to defend the bridge,"

Burke shifts in his seat, he puts his goggles on the front of his helmet and pulls down his balaclava.

"Chraist this country is forgetin' hot," he says.

"Anyway, the tank will be our most direct firepower. Et's good against buildin's but vulnerable to any A-T inside. The aircraft isn't as vulnerable as the tank but hay can only strafe the area, hay can't bomb the buildin's or else he might hit the bridge. If one of yas wants to try your hand at helping out the aircraft het shet, you can put the designator on your gun. Both the tank and the aircraft are on our radio network. Hell, they won't stop forgetin' talkin'.

"I think eets funny!" Sabine chimes in from the driver's seat.

The radio is very much alive with banter.

: "Helmet hair, Crash, I'll race you to the bridge."

: "I'll kick your ass when you land limp richard."

: "I can kick your ass now."

: "I will kick your ass now."

Someone in the convoy starts asking for bets.

"Devil to all Shank Victors and aircraft. Enforce radio protocol. We are approaching the A-O. Interrogative, aircraft Hammer, what do you see? Over."

: "Devil, Hammer, I think I can see the bridges now. South has a lot of obstacles on it, middles has some debris it looks like, north is obscured- Wait one... All bridges are standing. I see a couple hostiles in the open. Nothing along the road that parallels the river. The cross-streets are obscured. Out."
