tbh i disagree with trog; having static arms makes good anims harder and limits the kind of hand/arm anims you can use. for example, the playing cards i was developing wouldnt be possible with a full static arm

there are ways you could get around this

would b kinda hard wihout loving up the aethetic

this makes zero sense, how does it forget up the style?

just have the player hold is hands out and have cards in the center between them

no im saying it would be a lot harder to preserve the aesthetic and solid arm, compared to rn where you can get good looking positioning without being limited by the need of a solid arm

part of why the thing looks good is the hand angles and doing that + solid arm would look wonky af

how much have you worked with models that have arms?

its... not much more difficult like you think it is

i made a dog playertype and hated every minute of trying to animate a full leg. ended up going lego snappy leg style, but that wouldnt work with reloading anims or angled hands

Well maybe that's just your ability, because I have no problems animating arms and objects being held.

well its better to not make it even harder for people to model and animate stuff for a game that basically lives only cause its so easily moddable

we already dont have a lot of modelers

buddy if a player model having arms is your hangup for animating then I don't know what to tell you
