Author Topic: mediafire now blocks you out when using an adblocker  (Read 13725 times)

It's just to get extra cash,

it's to keep revenue going in case if the blockland purchases weren't enough, what other loving purposes to ads have? just because it has an avatar that plays a meme or has ridiculous descriptions aside from it's obvious advertising doesn't mean it's obviously not the ads in the forums. "to get extra cash" sounds something completely different if you word it like that in a sense.

So, none of the money that blockland rakes in helps support the forums?

if you think i said absolutely none of it then your black & white logical thinking is showing. you could probably think outside of the box that maybe badspot has more than just loving blockland purchases, one of them is the bot mainly.

Wow.
I can't believe it.
Someone has officially reached levels of absurdity that they have so many holes in one message it looks like a shotgun just shot it down.

this is why you're drama'd and constantly shat on, not to mention not being taken seriously.

what really secures the autism award for the people in this thread is that they think mediafire is intentionally putting these ads on their website to trick others.

it's almost as if their one dimensional brains can't comprehend how ad revenue works. let me put it in layman's terms. you check a box that says "only coke and progressive ads. NO FAKE DOWNLOAD BUTTONS" and the magical ad fairy comes down and grants safe ads on your website

it probably isn't mediafire directly but mediafire agreed to have those malicious ads on their website

yeah? because there's literally loving more, and quit connecting it to the game. you have to be actually loving dense if you think the blockland FORUMS runs on alternative blockland accounts, why would badspot enable an ad bot otherwise??

we're talking about the forums and only the forums, not the game itself.
First, you tried to shoot down my argument by ignoring most of it,
it's to keep revenue going in case if the blockland purchases weren't enough, what other loving purposes to ads have? just because it has an avatar that plays a meme or has ridiculous descriptions aside from it's obvious advertising doesn't mean it's obviously the ads in the forums. You said blockland forums runs on ads...

what really secures the autism award for the people in this thread is that they think mediafire is intentionally putting these ads on their website to trick other people.

I don't give a stuff what they're intentionally doing, fact of the matter is last time I tried to download something from mediafire it tried to redirect to a drive-by downloader that was blocked by my antivirus.

I, and nearly everyone else, stopping using mediafire because of that issue. This is only the final nail in the coffin. Stop playing devil's advocate here, there's literally no reason to.

You said blockland forums runs on ads...

if you didn't take it so literally this statement is half-wrong. if we are ONLY talking about the forums separated from the game the main thing would be ads. in this case, we are talking about the forums. you brought up blockland as if it's the ONLY and roosterSURE WAY that it makes money.

i mentioned this earlier, that's something mediafire let slip through.

the popup happens when you click anywhere on the page, it's a backdoor javascript put by one of the ads. in this case, mediafire should definitely address it because it's a threat to people's security

apart from that everything else is just fair game.

i don't think anyone here actually believes that. i think you've either mistaken our arguments or are making this up to make it easier to knock us down.
my problem with this stuffty advertising is that mediafire allows this stuff to go up. they've lost me and possibly many others as customers through adblock because of their lack of quality control in what shows up on their pages and not going for the supposed higher end filtering of ads.

they didn't put enough thought into their choice of provider for ads.

Yeah, they do alot.
Sites like roblox need builders club and not just ads because ads don't rake in enough depending on what you do. File hosting is expensive en masse.
you kind of just answered your own question - I'm pretty sure mediafire needs all the revenue it can get to host huge file servers for everyone to use from ads and its premium services

which is why they remove ads once you buy it

apart from that everything else is just fair game.

like using better services that don't lock their website away from people using adblocker

literally nothing of value is lost, just another annoyance for people stupid enough to still be using mediafire

'higher end filtering of ads' is literally revenue Self Delete. no ceo in their right mind would ever authorize that unless they really really want to bankrupt their company just to pander to a bunch of teens who want to marry their adblock

i agree, people have the freedom to use another service. however, the ads aren't at all mediafire's fault, they are the agency they signed up for to generate revenue

I never said it did not rake in any money. You're just dense and argumentative.

Revenue Self Delete? Do you know how any of this works? The reason they're doing all of this stuff is because nobody uses Mediafire, because it's so stuff. They use the alternatives that dont have nearly as obtrusive ads, faster download speeds, etc.
And those websites get more attention because they aren't so stuff with ads. They spent the extra buck and won the fight.
