Unfortunately there's no in-game footage, but I've heard a lot of people guessing about what time it will be set in.
I think my opinion that it shouldn't be a futuristic game is hardly unpopular though.

I feel like it will if they know what's best for them, because revisiting an already-covered time period will elicit even more cries of "AoE 1/2/3 was better than this dumpster fire!" than they're probably already going to see.

you are correct, we have 2 space age RTS games already and that is enough, there never needs to be another one made

AoE 3 was pretty good. Still have a preference for SC2, though.
