I don't understand that. You know animals don't give a forget about us, so why do you care about them so much?
I don't think "giving a forget" is the factor which earns an animal humane treatment, lol. It's more about saving sentient organisms a life in horrible conditions only to be slaughtered.
Because people humanize animals to the point of absurdity. It's why some people put clothes on their pets and say that the pets love it. The pets don't feel anything, hell they don't even know what clothes or collars or what being a pet is. We just think the animals can feel like we do when in all actuality they don't.
False. Most mammals and birds can feel pain and proto-emotions (sentience). They are not as complex as humans (sapient) but they're not mindless unfeeling balls of carbon.
In fact what you said is about as ridiculous as the people who dress up their animals. If you expect an anthropomorphic display of emotion from a non-human, you're not going to find it for obvious reasons. Body language varies from species to species, so you have to know what to look for to deduce how an animal is "feeling."
Most arthropods though are incapable of feeling pain so that's why nobody cares about Asian cultures roasting thousands of tarantulas and beetles.
McZealot's line of thinking is pretty extreme but he's right that the meat industry is rather inhumane.
