Author Topic: the google pixel 2 won't have a headphone jack  (Read 6943 times)

20-26 maybe two seconds after you bought them but for me it has about 3 and a half hours, after four or so years of use
i'm not annoyed that the phone is bad as much as i am that when i get a new phone (which i do need to soon) i'll have to try and find one like four generations ago in order to get what actually works for me, which one would hope a new update would prevent, but it's still just taking away good features and adding new ones that i don't give a stuff about

also very unrelated but is this new or has it just been here the whole time?

Getting annoyed over a phone that doesn't have a 3.5 jack and you wont be able to afford it is silly. Also all flagship phones either have 20-26 hour battery life and charge fast so having to "charge and listen at the same time" is just you being dumb.
a. if flagships remove the headphone jack, other phones will follow, and soon enough the headphone jack, a well-respected feature used by almost every smartphone user because it just works, will be removed from most new smartphones including budget models
b. if i'm going to go out and want to listen to a bit of music through my headphones before i go, i don't want to waste my precious battery. also, what if i want to charge my phone with a portable battery pack while also listening to music?

y'know didn't google stuff on apple for not having a headphone jack in the pixel trailer?

they did

A flagship phone should add features, not remove them
You buy expensive phone, you should expect the same if not more and better specs and features, not removed stuff

stop supporting this for the only reason of trying to rile people up

This definitely forgets people who use their phone to navigate while they're driving. I plug my phone into the aux and the charger. (because the battery usually depletes pretty quickly, even on a google pixel, when you're playing music and using google maps navigation at the same time) My workflow would get all forgeted if I couldn't do both simultaneously.

It's basically an inconvenience whenever you'd be trying to listen to something during some sort of long ordeal like while driving or on a plane because you wouldn't be able to charge it during.

You do realize that they will include an usb c to 3.5 adapter right?
the iPhone did the same thing. It's still stuffty having to carry around a dongle with your headphones.

They removed the headphone jack so they could add stuff like more screen or a bigger battery, that's why the iPhone 7 doesn't have an empty sack where the headphone jack used to go. Also most users of the iPhone 7 and Moto z have had no issue with the 3.5 jack being gone.

coping with it doesnt mean it isn't an inconvenience

If this is true, explain how the iPhone 7 headphone jack mod is becoming popular, even though there's no room due to bigger screen / battery?

The screen is a very slim part of the phone, and many many flagships today are releasing with pitifully small batteries for their pricepoint

the next iphone will just jam all electronics that aren't made by apple.

not technically confirmed but seriously if they remove the headphone jack forget that i'm not going to be getting a pixel any time soon, there is no reason to remove it

Except removing the headphone jack hasn't allowed a bigger battery or "more screen" in any of the phones with the headphone jack removed. Guess what Apple put in the space that the headphone jack had. A loving barometer.

Which would you rather have, an industry standard feature that makes using the phone with any standard pair of headphones several times more convenient, or a loving barometer?

can't wait for the next gen smartphone line where you shove the entire phone into a phonejack that was surgically installed into the back of your skull

i wonder when they'll remove the usb 3 port and force you to use the stuffty loving wireless charger garbage

lol. had an android 5s for a few years now. never felt the need to upgrade. I don't really think there's anything I need that it can't do
did you mean the galaxy s5

I literally just don't understand. Why sabotage your own sales for no reason?
