Author Topic: Blogland: I almost get the nerve to shoot some tweaker  (Read 3002 times)

okay... yea... that's exactly what I thought you did? and it was still stupid and reckless.
then have fun in prison lol. you can't just shoot people because they seem dangerous.

jesus, people like you shouldn't be allowed to own firearms. you clearly lack the sense and maturity needed to own a lethal weapon.
You're stupid and I'm not going to waste time arguing with you. You're whole intent here is to stir drama.

Maybe, I live in a stand-your-ground state and he was threatening to hurt me.
I mean, I don't doubt the guy was dangerous, but you're much better off having not shot him. Getting embroiled in a years-long legal battle to prove your innocence, while simultaneously grappling with the reality of having killed another human being sounds like a pretty stuffty combination.

The important thing is that you were protected in case the guy suddenly got violent or kicked down your door or some stuff.

yea dude, I'm a loving idiot for wanting to avoid crazy people and let the police deal with it. that's absolutely insane.

violence in response to a threat is not legally self defense. If someone says "I'm gonna cut your throat bitch" and you shoot them--you still commited murder. Until they come at you with a weapon or start actually touching you, you have no legal right to use a weapon. Self-defense doesn't just mean "I felt threatened", it means you had no other options and had to use violence to save your own (or someone elses) life. ceist would've been convicted of murder because he wanted to look macho.

it's a little different in 'stand your ground' states--but not until he's actually breaking into your apartment, which he wasn't.

i dont understand why that was relevant at all but ok

ceist would've been convicted of murder because he wanted to look macho.

you like to throw that "macho" stuff around don't you

can't just leave it at "ignorance", no, you have to let your assumptions about his motives out there too.

he's bragging about how he almost killed a dude on an internet forum. what else do you think his intentions are? he's clearly ignorant of self-defense laws but that's irrelevant. he felt challenged or threatened by a dude and instead of getting himself to safety he argues with the guy and considers committing a murder with a lethal firearm (against someone who we don't even know is armed). he got a wound to his pride and acted irrationally. that's not terrible. people do it all the time. but let's not act like it's anything other than what it is.

it's like one of those stories you'd tell to impress someone at a bar. except its on an internet forum

It's a lot different in stand your ground states. I could've made this argument earlier but I didn't want to turn this thread into that, but you have no clue what you're talking about here.

Here's the reality of the situation that could've occurred. There were three individuals here, me, the tweaker, and my mother. If I chose to do the wrong thing here, and shoot him, I could have gotten away with it. My mom would have vouched for me, and we could've claimed self-defense. There's nothing indicating otherwise. Stand-your-ground covers perceived threats. I believe he had a weapon holstered in his waist-band, this is also what I told the police.

This isn't bragging this is venting. I was nervous and scared at the time of creation.

You talk a lot of stuff and know nothing. Get the forget out of my thread.

Lesson learned, never buzz Ceist after 10 pm :cookieMonster:

I mean a dude scared me once and the thought of loving murdering him never crossed my mind. Just saying....

anyway me and ceist talked on Steam and I'll apologize for being an starfish to him. even though I still don't really agree with what happened there was no reason to start insulting one another.
