War of the Spanish Secession?

Idk man Barcelona's a pretty rich city, they're going to be just fine on their own

so was venezuela as a whole country before recently

What makes you think they're going to suddenly fail because they aren't a part of Spain anymore
Oh, right, it's because "teh soshilistz"

Oh, right, it's because "teh soshilistz"

because they're a bunch of inept commies like you who don't understand how anything works and are too busy whining about fascism to do anything other than waste everyone else's time and resources with their illegal and pointless gimmicks

Who are these commies and what don't they understand
Oh and we saw plenty of "illegal gimmicks" coming from the Spanish police here today
Seems like you're just throwing whatever buzzword comes to your head and yet you know nothing about the history of Catalonia under the Spanish. Next you'll probably be talking about how Franco was actually good

Educate me, wise one

Catalonia has been wanting independence since at least the 1700s in the war of spanish succession. The reality is they just don't have the strength to fight off the spanish themselves and they aren't getting ANY outside help. The only way they could possibly get independence at this point would be from the backing of the EU and the threat of embargos on spain and even then thats iffy. Since that hasn't happened they will stay as part of spain and continue to bitch about it like they have the last 300 years. When it comes to them being able to support themselves as an independent state they have nothing of real value to offer the world in terms of raw materials or service based.. The spanish are like this as well but they are big enough to produce enough nothing that validates their existence and they have the privilege of leeching off of the EU.

The rest of Spain is a stuffhole and Barcelona has a booming economy. If anything an independent Catalonia would probably have more of an economic presence in Europe than Spain.

You get it really wrong when you say "they have nothing of real value to offer the world in terms of raw materials or service based." They would absolutely be better off without Spain, and Spain knows that. That's why the elites in the country don't want it to leave, because without Catalonia's economy the country's going to be further in debt. If Catalonia became independent it's not like they would cut themselves off from the rest of the world.

Lol most of those political parties are Spanish unionists (Socialists, CSQP, Unidos Podemos) and the actual communist parties don't even have seats in the chamber. Do better research.

Now I don't even know what you're getting at. The biggest party in the Catalonia parliament is Junts pel Sí, which is big-tent, not socialist. Popular Unity is only confidence and supply.

The rest of Spain is a stuffhole and Barcelona has a booming economy. If anything an independent Catalonia would probably have more of an economic presence in Europe than Spain.

'booming economy' their GDP per capita isn't even in the top three of spains provinces and their economic growth has stagnated to the point where it's declining.

You get it really wrong when you say "they have nothing of real value to offer the world in terms of raw materials or service based."

Except they don't and you know it. Thats why you never address this later on in your post.

They would absolutely be better off without Spain, and Spain knows that. That's why the elites in the country don't want it to leave,

Entirely wrong. They don't want Catalonia to leave because they fear it would have a domino effect causing the Basque country and other regions to want independence. No country wants to be balkanized.

because without Catalonia's economy the country's going to be further in debt. If Catalonia became independent it's not like they would cut themselves off from the rest of the world.

Catalonia would be cut off from their largest potential trading partner which WOULD be spain. And as of right now if the EU wouldn't let them in (which since they don't support their independence, they wouldn't) Catalonia would be nearly completely isolated economically and would collapse.

4 out of 5 of the leaders listed were members of either communist or socialist parties and their confidence and supply is communist lite
