Author Topic: spain trying to suppress catalonian independence  (Read 8536 times)

the south has never been tried

American independence wasn't in the British constitution therefore it was evil

what is: american war for independence

Also how does the constitution not allowing secession greenlight the brutalization of innocent people

>innocent people
>participating in illegal referendum

choose one

it's honestly hard to tell if you're being ironic or not

how to justify a country shutting down a regional government and abusing innocent voters with military force because they want to be independent

read over my og post and see how much of a stuffhead you are when you discover I supported the referendum

but legality isn't end-all-be-all for what is right and wrong. there shouldn't need to be a war when these people have decided that they no longer want to be a part of spain and their government has a plan to do what the people want.

and I feel like I shouldn't have to spell this out but beating up innocent civilians for voting in something sanctioned by the local government is never okay. if any action was to be taken in keeping with the constitution, the catalan gov should be held responsible, not civilians who were peacefully participating in a vote. I cannot imagine the mental gymnastics necessary to excuse this stuff.

fair enough, you just didn't list anyone by name so I thought I was lumped into the group against independence

haha never mind that constitution, just ignore it and do whatever man its all cool

...but like I said, the Catalan government should be getting sanctioned, not peaceful citizens getting beaten. a government that isn't terrible would let the vote happen and regard the results as moot rather than brutalize civilians cuz why not

besides that, do you think all law is just? if the hotdogs down in washington put down a law that said it's illegal to wear shoes, would you just root for the military murdering people and say "well they shouldn't have worn shoes?" Is NK a fine little country because the government follows the rules they made for themselves?

for someone who hates the confederacy so much you sure do seem fine with illegal secessionist movements now

...but like I said, the Catalan government should be getting sanctioned

dont worry it will be when they lose their autonomy

dude. i hate the confederacy because they enslaved human beings, not because they seceded. human rights are more important than law.

are you just going to skirt around every actual point or can you actually explain your views

not sure what point there is in trying to argue law with someone who doesnt seem to think it matters in the end

then I guess I don't see any point in trying to argue human rights with someone who doesn't seem to think they matter in the end

Human rights only apply to *gasp* humans. Not brain damaged subhuman muds like the Spanish or Scatalonians.

animal rights are important too

Insect and Pests don't have rights. Their only right is the right to be cleansed. Thats why turkroaches are so hated. Insects that are allowed to have a sovereign state. Just like (((our greatest ally))).
