Author Topic: [HISTORIC] Boy Scouts to admit girls into their ranks  (Read 22441 times)

wait i have a serious question now- should we be concerned about girls in boy scout troops? i mean, we all know scoutmasters love to get a little touchy with the kids...
yikes

i agree girls should be allowed into boy scouts or the two should be combined, but there should be a better process for accepting scoutmasters/more supervision

So, are they just merging the Boy and Girl Scouts together? Or making special acceptions into the Boy Scouts?

i dont think there are enough of these types of clubs to begin with. but the solution isnt to combine them lol

boy and girl scouts are two completely different organizations. girl scouts basically does nothing

hey guys watch this

teen titans go is actually pretty funny at times

honestly I watched a segment a few days ago that actually got a laugh out of me

yeah boy scouts is just allowing girls, not vice versa.

so let's force ourselves into a group not meant for us instead of leaving the girl scouts en masse and forming other organizations
telling girls they aren't allowed to learn valuable camping/life skills because they weren't born with a richard is insanely loveist and I'm not sure how you can support that bullstuff. GS and BS aren't the same thing. Girl Scouts sell cookies and make crafts while Boy Scouts go camping and do much more physical activities. This inherently enforces gender roles and anyone who warps their mind to believe this isn't true is full of stuff. If a girl wants to camp and a boy wants to sell cookies, nobody should care.

pretty cool

also, i personally dont think many employers will give a stuff about you being an eagle scout

most will probably wonder what it is...

is the same thing true about selling cookies

maybe instead of putting girls into the boy scouts they should have multiple options open for both groups? like having one section of the boy scouts doing the usual stuff and having the other section doing more girl scout-esque things, and vice versa

pretty cool

"so you went camping and stuff?"
"yeah"
"why"

yes. why not split each scouting unit into two separate groups and spend twice as much resources? clearly that's thousands of times more efficient than just letting girls into boy scouts

the real question is, what's wrong with accepting girls into boy scouts? you and tactical nuke haven't actually said what's wrong with it but are clearly opposed to it for some odd reason

This is proof that Satan's plan is working, same with the gays and transgenders

is the same thing true about selling cookies
yes how wouldn't it be

the problem is that girl scouts is pretty useless in nature. they learn, what, knitting and baking? bird watching? meanwhile boy scouts go camping/hiking/swimming, learn knife and gun safety, etc. so obviously there's more of a push to get girls into boy scouts than boys into girl scouts

but all the same, both should accept all children

knitting can save you hella money on ripped clothes. also knowing how to bake is a goddamn essential skill

if they really gave a stuff about doing boy scout style stuff they probably wouldn't join the girl scouts in the first place. we're arguing about a nonissue. there's like 2.6 million girl scouts in america, how many do you honestly believe want to join the boy scouts?

as a former boy scout i can tell you that 'camping and stuff' made up about 5% of the stuff we did

lord knows what you did after you put up the tents makes up the other 95%

tru but it's not fun
perhaps if they did all these things in one program hmmm
