I used to be a huge stickler for rare, and I still think rare is the best way to cook a steak, but whenever I go out to eat or have my steak cooked by someone else I ask for medium-rare. Like if I'm gonna have to send it back because it's cold as stuff just so it can be cooked to medium-rare, I'd rather just have it medium-rare up front lmao
