really that's the card you're playing? let's bring back lootbox gambling then the kids love spending their parents money on that.
exclusivity or prestige in modern games comes from spending money, it's shameful gamedesign and only exists for the shareholders.
Do you not remember the CSGO fiasco? Lootboxing pretty much died and is incredibly anti-consumer, whereas fortnite's Battle Pass which gives tons of value for how cheap it is is the exact opposite.
On fortnite the first rewards you get are two legendary skins. These alone are 40 dollars in value, for legendary skins cost 20 bucks each in the store. Not only do you get those legendarys, you get weapon skins and plenty of purple rarity skins, purples being 15 dollars, meaning these alone are more pricey than the pass is. You also get enough vbucks to buy stuff in the shop without spending any more money, or buy the next pass for free. This is the exact opposite of anti-consumer, hence it's such a popular business model. You don't need to be an economic mastermind to understand why this is one of the best F2P models we've seen yet.
Exclusivity has existed for a long time, WoW was doing time limited cosmetics years ago.
