And besides, last time i checked there wasn’t an actual official mortality rate?

you must understand that as far as we know most people that have died from the virus already had weakened immune systems to some degree, or they already had pre-existing conditions.

Also environmental factors are 100% playing into this as well considering how stuffty the air quality is in major Chinese cities, and as well the fact that most of the deceased were elderly men that smoke, so it's not surprising they'd have poor immune systems. Their respiratory and cardiovascular functions are already forgeted to some degree.

Oh and after the outbreak China already notified the WHO which has since published sequenced RNA of the virus. As of currently iirc 26 genomes have been isolated.

We won't know any real numbers since it originated in China.
But if it actually had a 60% mortality rate we'd be seeing some end of days level quarantine stuff going on. Airports across the world would be shut down. We would've quarantined California and Arizona, and prob the entire west coast just to be safe. Everything would be shut the forget down. You think the world would continue with business as usual while a virus that kills 60% of infectees spreads en masse? Come on dude. Use your noggin.

No no no shut te forget up

yes totally that’s why they have ebola at a <20 mortality rate when in africa it kills like 80% of its victims and is the actual mortality rate.
80% was because of things like no access to good/passable medical facilities, which is not true universally (ie china and usa)

ebola's primary method of killing people iirc was due to severe dehydration or something like that was hemorrhaging - aka in good hospitals they are able to give the patient enough saline/symptomatic treatment so most patients can survive long enough for their immune system to kick in and kill the virus off. meanwhile sick people in rural areas are basically dead on diagnosis due to no access to hospital care. im betting that most of the deaths from this outbreak is due to the same reason, and also elderly/very young catching the disease and dying due to too weak immune systems

ebola is hemorrhagic

pretty much every pathogen on earth dies if it touches rubbing alcohol, this isn't new

also viruses can't die because they aren't really alive to begin with, they're just dna in a shell

ebola is hemorrhagic

ebola was also caused by eating bats

stop loving eating bats, they are basically rats
