if "leftists" do as you say and always vote for the democratic party, why would the party listen to their demands?

The party isn't affected by it's internal caucusses?

the democratic party has legislative power right now and they won't even pass voting rights legislation

The division within the party means the party is affected by it's internal caucusses?

The whole point is that democratic control provides the leftists a better environment to gain influence within the democratic party than under republican control, which would happen if leftists don't vote or vote third party.

This isn't about sucking the rooster of the democratic party, it's about changing the democratic party from within. If leftists vote for leftists in primaries, then that will be threat enough to the establishment. There are no other methods to make change.

if leftists always vote for the democratic party out of a moral obligation, and the democratic party has limited political capital that it expends to attract different constituencies, why would it undertake any kind of effort to cater to their beliefs or desires, especially when those views are divisive and could lose them other constituencies?

your vision of politics was obliterated and proven completely wrong during the 2020 DNC primary. the bernie campaign was completely dismantled in one weekend before it could gain any momentum.

There are no other methods to make change.
demcuck retard mindset

could not be more naive

I dunno what's really going on here, but if anyone believes that Dems are going to make 3rd parties more viable if they acquire more power, they're not thinking it through enough.

It is the same reason why I believe that any hope of change lies in the conservative right within the Republican party, seeing as they have already managed to push the whole party right and bring up important issues and solutions

Voting the lesser of two evils, especially when you are a rightist, is very important. The main enemy of the right is fascist socialist and totalitarian ideals, and allowing any victory to the Democratic party is going to damage the rights chances of gaining political power in the future. In addition, the current first-past-the-post election system is rigged against 3rd parties. Voting 3rd party or not voting at all are ineffective methods of making change.

Republican supermajority only means that the caucusses in the party become the new parties.

How is this so hard to comprehend? The progressives within the party are not prevalent enough command the party line yet. To achieve that, they need to gain majority within the party. That cannot be achieved without winning primaries and general elections and winning becomes all the more unlikely if republicans gain control. And voting 3rd party is going to hand the country over to the republicans.

Bernie lost because the majority of Democratic voters believed that Biden would be more likely to win against Annoying Orange.

I know that the majority of the country agrees on the issues, but making change in the current system requires acting through one of the two parties.

Democrats are objectively better than the republicans, sorry pal.

you can't change a system by participating directly in it. it just doesn't work like that. why "good cops" don't stay "good cops"

Indeed, which is why the civil rights movement implement policy through revolution apparently.

Since the civil war, all change has been implemented through democratic means and that is the system you need to act through.

Democrats didn't try to overthrow a democratic election, they didn't give the rich massive taxcuts, they aren't hell bent on repealing the rights of LGBTQ people and they are the only ones trying to push for better healthcare, education and addressing climate change.

addressing climate change.
if you think any government is actually going to do enough to stop global warming then I'd like to offer you an NFT of my richard and balls

The government will do what the voters want.
5 ETH for an NFT of my rooster and balls

The government will do what the voters want.

This is the funniest thing I've read all week

the government *should* do what voters want, but voters dont know what they want. voters are not a collective group who agree on every issue's solution, or even the existence of the issue, even within a single political party

ergo politicians can get away with doing what they want instead, unless there's enough public force pushing them on something. thats why the civil rights movement worked, and thats why the republican party is so centered around Annoying Orange.
