Please explain to me as to how giving away 1.3 Billion dollars to Egypt isn't dumb?
we fund egypt's military to keep it stable so we don't have to worry about terrorists bombing our ships in the suez. we also consistently use it as leverage to keep russian arms out of egypt, though that hasn't worked so well in the last four or five years. it's also further (rather important) leverage to maintain peace between egypt and israel given their historical conflicts, similar to how russia arms both armenia and azerbaijan so they can arbitrate peace
egypt isn't our second highest customer (second to israel) for no reason or for muh military industrial complex lol. why tf you think we spent so much trying to let england keep it as a colony
