Probably not, but it shouldn't discourage people from being able to intelligently discuss issues in games. Even if nothing comes of it, it's still a contribution. Maybe some independent developer (and it would need to be an independent developer- they've got nothing to lose deviating from the default formula for creating blockbuster games) would use the contents of such a rant to write a game that grows in popularity so much that major game developers begin to consider it. (and hey, take a look at the roots of Portal and Counter-Strike! Some game about cartoon characters popping in and out of colored holes to solve puzzles and mazes, and a mod for a quake based game that attempted to emulate the feel of classic shooters- having more in common with Space Invaders than Red Orchestra with it's stamina meters and fancy 'oh look at me i don't have a crosshair' gameplay- and tie in themed team based deathmatch in a balanced way that was meaningful, intuitive and fun for the player without being overly complicated)
In any case, I think you only stated reasons why you disagreed, no actual reasons for why his rant was bad (something along the lines of spelling, grammar and inconsistent logic may have been more appropriate), and, whether you intended it or not, made a brilliant post contributing to the discussion of why you like games. (in practice, you posted the same thing the author did, from a different point of view)
