Despite the RAM-Hogging features, and crap security Vista's alright

How many loving times do we have to tell you this...

It uses the RAM when your other applications aren't using it so it really has no effect on the performance of your machine, nor the work you do, or the games you play. This is comparable to complaining about your car using too much of its available horsepower. You paid for that hardware, and for once the software is taking advantage of it.

As for the "crap" security of Vista, that is a more difficult argument.

First thing you have to understand is that no computer can be completely safe from attack, especially if it is intentional. Secondly, there are 3 ways to deal with security...

1)Do nothing, allow all applications, plugins, installers etc run as they please, without user intervention
2)Use a blacklist system whereas everything can run, but the programs and such that you specify
3)Use a whitelist system whereas the user must specify which applications can run, which installers can open, ect. (Vista uses this)

This system, AKA "UAC" is put in place so that malicious applications can't overtake your computer and install/alter/erase files at will. By including the user in high profile actions such as installing drivers and programs, you help prevent harmful programs from damaging your computer.

Really, all UAC means is that you must occasionally push 1 extra button to perform an action and if that is really too much loving effort for your fingers then you can disable UAC all together.

You know, I hate Arguments so I'm not going to keep this going. and plus everyone has their own option about vista, You think its good, I happen to think its a bunch of crap, W/E

I'm not going to Fight about this

That's one way of saying "ok, your logical argument has defeated my wild claims that were really based on bandwagon psychology and a competitors propaganda."

Don't just run away with your tail between your legs every time someone presents a valid rebuttal. If your beliefs are grounded in facts and/or logical reasoning then you should have no trouble refuting what I said.

I use Vista and XP, and though I like both, your arguement against Vista is full of stuff.

Yeah okay, I was just not thinking clearly. had gotten annoyed that something was not working, so I just lashed out.

Next time I'm gonna think it though

That UAC hides the screenshots, add-ons, and other in your blockland folder.

Alienware blows. If you really didn't want to build it yourself(poor move) you could have got a similar Dell XPS for less.
