no. it definitely is a mental condition though its not correct to call it a mental illness according to dsm 5. you can interpret current psychology research as you will however :^) im sure you are very well versed!

also even if it WAS a mental illness, (which it ain't) the best treatment option that medicine has found for gender dysphoria is straight up transitioning, be that simply HRT or also surgery

and if you are convinced that it's a mental illness, you are ADMITTING that it's out of the person's control, and thereby making anyone who disparages them for that a huge cunt (and im assuming that if you are vehemently calling it a mental illness, you are also an starfish to trans people)

yeah well the DSM and the APA both don't consider it a mental disorder. its pretty clearly shifting away from that definition. the later dates in that article you linked are all different institutions classifying gender dysphoria as "not a mental disorder"

and like i said, it being a mental illness doesn't give you the right to be an starfish to them. as long as you're not touching their genitalia for some reason you really shouldn't care about their loveual characteristics. i've met cis men that look like girls and cis women that look like guys - that doesn't give me the right to impose an incorrect gender on them (but if its by accident whatevs)
