To get a fan going make a fan block and use Alt+Click on it then drag in the direction wanted.

Or he could do what I said...it is more complicated, but it looks much cooler.....and it transfers heat from one side to the side where the wind is coming out. This is very useful for flame throwers....

Or he could just make a simple fan for using it for things other than that.

Regulith did you even try the game? The physics are great for a powder game....
