If you look super closely at the edges of the outer rings, and go back from one image to the other, you'll notice the 'with' image has slightly smoother edges
I see now, thank you :D

Would anyone make a tutorial for how to make a rocket engine?

It actually looks a lot smoother. The one without is clearly an n-gon, even with the smooth shading you can tell. But it is much harder to say the same about the subdivided one.

That's not how n-gons work. The one that isn't subdivided has smooth shading at some parts.

After looking at some models

I never knew so many of you guys were this good lol

Now I feel really bad about my modeling lol

WIP, still have to color it and add a front sight.
The receiver was a bitch by the way.

Cone + cylinder = Profit

Rendering your gun differently won't make it better.

For starters, use less faces when making your scope and anything cylindrical on your model if it's going for blockland I assume.

Also work on your gun proportions and knowledge because that helps out a lot

and I would know since I've gotten advice from a lot of people telling me so and I was able to improve a lot.

That's what I said?

It don't think the are any major ngons in the model and even if there were they wouldn't be that noticeable.

Yeah I was just testing out the nodes on the other hand I just smooth shaded the scope but I guess I'll work more on the proportions
