Holy balls this looks like RCT2. It even uses the same fonts, isometric views and menu. Downloading...

Just as pointer to you all, evidently he misdescribed "blockland competitive" because I got banned upon trying to compete with someone and it isnt only experienced players, its just the players he lets in, including newbies.

So your the friend that was building over my roads and shutting off my oil flow?

It uses same engine.

And the game is really good.
No matter how much I try different industries I still make most of profit on passenger trains and planes.
And the passenger industry is solid income, make one network and never worry about that again.

Sucks the game is down :<

"game name: Blockland Competitive"
"This server is for people that pretty much know how to play."
First paragraph.
And I told him that I was just seeing what happened when two corps competed for resources but he just blocked me.

You're an idiot.  It was obvious that that player was new, and you could've picked ANY OTHER COMPANY to compete with, but you just had to do that one.

Oh wow I just learned how to use transfer orders. Now my dock will be a lot more profitable. Although now we are at the point in the game where we can just spam planes and get unlimited money.

I hope bisjac brings the server back up again!
I want Pandan's Transport to live.

lol yeah at one point the map has been used (even the max map size, we managed to eat it up) and hard earned money is just a joke, we can spam millions funding buildings and bribing cities on each other.
its almost more fun when you start out broke and struggling. we haven't even gotten to maglev trains yet. and by then there wont be room on the map lol

sheezy i called it a competitive game because i was full time helping everyone learn how to do things on the older server. i couldnt even play myself and wanted to have fun on the game.
you felt the need to come across map and attempt to overtake a sucky player's only thing.
and if that wasn't enough, you had to taunt her about it.

if you want real competition, i could own you all off the map and put you under. you guys dont yet understand how to control ratings, and get setup full 100$ efficiency of your vehicles. most you "knowledgeable" players still just plug and play vehicles and hope it works out.
and that's fine. the game dont have to be competitive at all, its fun to all just be nerding out together. the place is big enough where we can almost not get in each others way

i would figure a 2400x2400 map or whatever is enough room for a dozen companies.
maybe you didn't need her only resource on the map, why not go for the other 100 unused waters.

guys want new game? or same one. i can post the save to if people want it.
also suggestions for changing settings and game rules for a next game.

* i can limit certain vehicle amounts.
like 30 boats, 30 planes, 50 trains, 100 road vehicles max

* i  have been using low cities, low industries. my fav. seems to be fine there, having more would be kinda spammy on space.

* have more water. would depend less on long trains then.

* lower loan amounts, higher interest (difficulty)

* more disasters on

what we had was actually a pretty easy setup, i may alter how long vehicles can go without breaking down though. that was gay

nopls.

i may limit planes. it is a cheap shot when you can start affording them. there is no other need for anything esle to make money in later game.
you would have to piuck maybe 2 or 4 cities you want an airport. max.
have like 20 planes only

how end game should be played when everything is being used, map is just crammed with player stuff and grown cities;
you start replacing your stuff with better track. better vehicles. better lines. move terrain that was to expensive before so to make your trips easier. work on your ratings, and scoring on game.

I've been running a single player game getting the hang of using transfer tickets to move freight from one station to another. I'm also using one way signals to set up a loop so that I can have 2 trains running in opposite directions servicing a 1 lane station. It saves a bit of money (I didn't have to buy a 2 lane station) at the price of my sanity while trying to figure out how to do it.

Unfortunately the route I'm running doesn't make enough profit to cover the cost of the trains and the station. Plus I'm paying 21k in loan interest every year :(
I can't figure out how to increase my local rating performance. Every time a train rolls into the station I pick up all the goods they have, I'm not letting them pile up or anything. Without a good rating I can't get the industries to grow and my trains can barely fill 1 car.

I'd say keep the boat limit high, people usually only build like 3 boats and I wouldn't mind seeing some cool boat empires sprout up, especially on a map with a lot of water.

Limit planes though, or maybe just limit the number of larger airports you can build, so people only own 1-2 huge airports and have to keep them busy with smaller commuter shuttles. Seeing an intercontinental airport in a city with 106 people is kind of silly. Especially when there's 15 different intercontinental airports.

Another benefit to this is that people can't spam the concorde or whatever fake name the game uses, it would only be able to provide flights between their 2-3 large airports. It will crash at commuter airports, so they have to use the small shuttle planes.

at the price of my sanity while trying to figure out how to do it.
lol
getting down the whole train signaling thing is tough, but can be the most useful money maker in game. even planes cant move passengers as fast as a properly functioning train line. ive seen large cities fill an airport faster then planes are allowed to land.
using 1-way looping for huge busy train lines is great, you can have 6 times the amount of trains then there are even places to pull into stations, and it don't matter. 1ways spaced out along the entire run also allow trains to follow each other and not have to wait.

there are even more ctrl+clicking signals that you guys are yet to use. where they come before and after junctions, and can not only signal a train in as usual, but can tell it what station is open, 3 signals before they reach it and could normally have seen it themselves.
there's also the use of waypoint orders on trains that no one ive seen needs yet.

* to raise ratings on a station, you have to move cargo faster, to up the transport % of that station.
you notice how every industry out there belongs to a nearby town. that town hates you for having cargo gather and sit on the station, even for a second.
i have a train or truck sitting and waiting for production at all times, so stuff barely touches the station istelf, its like dropping right into a truck.
you do this with a combination of full load options and the PERFECT amount of vehicles to get there and back in time to be the next full loader.

but you also cant have 4-5-6-7 things full loading at once, because that brings ratings down anyways. it has to be as close to perfect as you can possibly do, have them show up in about the time the last left. its guessing and test running. buying more then selling some vehicles till im please with this line and move on.

and even then i have to return to everything in game to make adjustments, the economy and production changes, upgrades to faster vehicles changes this system to.

* advantages to having the high ratings
you get more people/cargo then other players are allowed there.
things will produce a little more, and stay up rather then drop as some places industry's do and that's why they go out of business.
the town will like you more, give you more options in the towns local authority, and is more tolerant you you bombing their roads, buildings, and farms.
