I don't like bushido's ghost idea, Minecraft can be startling enough without ghosts coming out of a wall while you're mining.

how bout you can have ghost proof walls
and they only come out at night.
and are low level

I'd say a pretty decent computer. Of course you can change the render distance to compensate for how many blocks there are, but the computer I'm on right now slows down like stuff when the day/night cycle changes. It can't handle every block on the map changing light at once.

BUT IT IS ONLY ACTIVATED AFTER YOU HAVE KILLED SOMETHING and the more things you've killed, the more ghosts haunt you
