Stack damaged armor on full-health armor. It's a glitch but it's the only way of doing it right now.

Make a wood chest but put a piece of wool in the enter, it will become a painting. Place it and it will place a painting - if the space is small it will only create small ones. The image is random and if you don't like it you can remove and replace it.
