because you have a different port/setup with bukkit that isn't the same with default mc

It didn't crash for me, neither for SMP or single player.

I got furnaces to work fine smelting stone with coal. The furnace randomly decides to crash my game at the start of a forge cycle with iron and when it ended. It was forgeted up.

I've had them crash in Creative mode, but they work fine in Multiplayer. Not sure about Survival yet.

for the prerelease, it says it can't load "Main-Class Manifest". do you have to put the minecraft.jar in like, /.minecraft?

You have to replace your minecraft.jar in the bin folder with it.

Just make sure you back it up first.

They work if you put the stuff you want to smelt after you put in the fuel

if you put in fuel while somethings in the smelting slot, it crashes.

Otherwise it's fine, just smelting a bunch of pork and chicken over here.
