4. feed the two animals wheat
5. Come back in a few minutes (not sure how long)

And if you remember, passive mobs used to despawn. They don't anymore. So, pretty much, you could make a species go extinct in an area. :P

They make a baby instantly, they just have to "cool down" before they can have another.

It's the reason you want to breed them. :D
