what kind of mods?

your generic tech mods like ic2, buildcraft, and mods like
mo creatures
clay soldiers
twilight forest
grey goo
more dungeons
metallurgy

and things like that, i might remove/add mods based on popular demand and if they're horribly broken or not
there's also mystcraft in the pack, so if enough people want the overworld can basically be the grief protected world and mystcraft ages can basically be the throwaway ones, unless someone asks for their own custom mystcraft world

removing the novelty of friends, blockland completely demolishes minecrafts multiplayer from server-client handling to ease of use.

gameplay with blockland does shine online. its fast and smooth. i don't have to worry about hacking up game files and patching exploits that should've been fixed by the devs.

so the only reason you're here is to say "blockland is better than minecraft"

eh, i wouldn't really be interested, others might though

You can't compare Blockland to Minecraft in terms of exploitable features. I'm sure I don't need to explain the differences; just that, Blockland does not have as much to exploit, whereas Minecraft is always gaining various new features. It's inevitable that the exploit count would be higher between the two games. It really can't be compared, as I said. Besides that, they have been patching the game massively, correcting exploits. Most of the exploits people still find are there because 'fixing' them can be obstructive, and they'd rather have the players control loving each other over for some reason of another. And they're even changing that thought, too... Sorry, I'm tired.

not like minecraft has a wealth of content needing to be patched. some exploits have existed since the game came out. if your game is full of bugs, patch it before adding more shallow content. I'm refering more to flymod and xray type crap than like an extra arrow damage glitch. these are pretty big exploits that really shouldn't still exist

the problem with patching things like flymod and xray programs/texture packs is that the game completely loses that open customizability/modability that is one of its most prominent and widely exercised features.

i can agree about actual hacks that can disrupt the game of others, that's just something you really can't prevent. blockland is just really well-coded. in other cases, it's your game and you should be able to do what you want with it.

just because you think something is illegitimate, doesn't mean it should be disallowed by default.

its called good server-client interaction. it prevents clients from exploiting when the server disallows it. unfortunately this game lacks that.

Explain how you patch exploits like X-Ray and Fly Mods, please. I seriously want to hear how you think this can be accomplished to an extent that would satisfy you.

doesn't matter to me anyway, i usually play single player.

it's heed - arguing with him isn't really worth it imo

come on daro-man! don't give up already!

i could be scripting in CC over arguing with someone with a differing opinion - something i've continually failed to realize until now

While he clearly isn't satisfied with the game and he should find something to do, doesn't mean he's wrong.

Most patches are just adding more side stuff, rather than improving the game aspects that really need improvement.
The vehicles still seem like they were in the beta. Laggy, stupid controls, and fairly limited.
Mobs are boring. Not only are they basic but there isn't enough variety. We need sea monsters, sky monsters, and monsters that cause different kinds of debuffs. A unique variety. Not villager zombies and mobs with armor/weapons.

I have a world that I've convinced myself is entirely ocean by chance. This makes surviving incredibly easy, which is completely opposite of any other game/real world. The difficulty is on hard and I can survive with just an iron sword and some bread.

I understand "bla bla bla it's sandbox you're supposed to be creative". Yeah, creative mode is fine. For people who like extremely simple looking things. But that's not what this is about. The survival is terribly lacking in it's own genre. The only way you can possibly die is if you intentionally put yourself at risk, or play in a PvP server, as broken as that is.

If I wanted to just build, I'd play Blockland. I've got smaller shapes to work with and modding it is a hell of a lot better. I can make so much more in Blockland than I can in Minecraft, build and mod wise. Whenever I see minecraft mods, it's either gimmicky, not very interesting, or requires you to have a separate copy of the game because you had to stuff files into the main .jar file.

But, I'm not saying Minecraft has no potential and is not a fun game. It could just be a lot better than it is.
The development process seemed unprofessional at that. I swear they just labeled it alpha, beta, and complete just because they felt like upping the price.
