my 1.3.5 worked fine, the 1.4.2 update just seemed like a bunch of worthless misc stuff like a couple mobs, but not really any major changes. the 1.4.4 just fixed all the bugs that came with 1.4.2. this game really hasnt had any major gameplay changes in a while, seems like its on its last legs to me.

Minecraft is by no means on its last legs. Unless something incredible comes out in the next few years minecraft is going to smolder for a long time.

The part that saddens me is that whenever they add new stuff, it just uses old content.

New mushroom island biome? Well sure it introduces new dirt, but it's still pretty much just dirt. Sure it introduces new cows, but they still just give beef and leather. There's really nothing new to gain from it except for different dirt.
An entirely new world. The end. What's in it? Worthless endstone and one kind of overland mob, the enderman. Oh and some weak boss which gives you a worthless item, and a bunch of magical enchantment orbs. (can't possibly be exp and levels, because all you do is enchant stuff with it)
Oh, and a bunch of redstone stuff.

Diamonds are a few blocks above bedrock, redstone is so common, I don't know.
