Last I heard, no. The coding for THAT sounds... beyond Java without stuffting the server...

Actually, you can see through them. If you have a modern PC, they'll work just fine. Heck, even my graphics card won't lag with them.

i can barely play minecraft unless waiting a minute for the world to load, but it still lags like stuff.

Running a heavy mod like TFC, optifine is not going to help in the slightest, I've tried it.

I would say texture pack but it generally doesn't become a problem until it hits 128x (at least for me)
