it's usually the programmer, and not the language/engine. the fact that something like optifine even exists tells us that the devs did something wrong.

I sifted through the Minecraft code and it's horrendous
I barely know any Java and it's still the most unoptimized code I've ever seen :u

So I am currently hosting an FTB server. It is going to run a whitelist for when no admins are around to moderate.
