Witches Hut. Right next to it, INSANE desert generation.

i have a cool seed as well

chrome

there is a plains and forest next to eachother, a one house village, and lots of horses at spawn. there is also a nether fortress if you build your portal near spawn

i have an idea guys
lets add in horses, but make them unable to fit through 1x1 passageways meaning you cant make a stable for them because they cant fit through a gate
also, lets give villagers the most obnoxious sound ever that they repeat ad infinitum when they trample your crops
what a stuff update

What a stuff attitude.

Horses fit through a 1 block gap - it is just difficult to lead them through fences. Place two gates next to each other and it will work fine.

Villager sounds were done after Dinnerbone purchased a professional-grade microphone, sending various sounds to C418 to modify for the game. What other noise could they have? Talking is too specific when their actions are relatively varied, and villagers aren't so important as to need an intuitive speech system. It's fitting enough.

Has anyone ever tried the Ultra Hardcore mod in single player? I'm catching up on Mindcrack's UHC and using it with 1.6.2 looks like pure hell

I don't know what they were thinking giving villagers that obnoxious sound honestly, as someone who often settles in villages I've made it my #1 priority to remove it before I play again

Villagers were fine when they were silent. I also don't mind them making a happy noise when you do a trade with them or a pain noise when getting hit or dying. But that ambient noise has to go.
Also is anyone else getting a glitch where you can't remove a block unless you're using the proper tool? I've been playing on a friend's server and I've been having this issue:
-There is a dirt block
-I click on it with a non-shovel in hand or no tool at all
-Nothing happens, it doesn't even do the repeating swing animation when I hold down LMB
-Block is only able to be removed with a shovel or by switching to creative mode
It's not exclusive to dirt blocks, either, every block behaves like this now. I wouldn't mind this too much but certain blocks like hay bales don't have a specific tool to remove them with which means if I place a hay bale there is literally no way to pick it back up again without going to creative.

you were in adventure mode then

Gamemodes: 0 (Creative), 1 (Survival), 2 (Adventure)

You can also type: c/creative, s/survival, a/adventure

you were in adventure mode then
I wasn't aware /gamemode s would put me in adventure mode

That's still the behavior of adventure mode, DEFINITELY. If turning to survival REALLY isn't working, something you have might be bugging it.

I finally returned to a server I had frequented a while back and was pleasantly surprised to find that out of all of the unprotected parts of my home (about half of it, didn't feel like bothering the already busy admins) the only things that were damaged were my enchanting table (missing), obsidian generator (lava spilling out and the instructions gone, as expected), items in item frames (they were somewhat new when I last played there and hadn't been included in the list of things that could have protection) and farm (half-trampled and all the crops except reeds missing, the fellow left a sign "thanking" me for the crops and signed his (probably not real) username)

Maybe I've actually found a server that isn't completely full of starfishs for once

late to the party but

Would you want to share the IP? I understand if no, but really sounds like a good server to play on long-term, which is kinda the dream, aye?
