They abruptly decided to release it while also cramming in new features, like "We want this out before Minecon" or something. It's forgetfull of bugs because of this.

Apparently Jeb is going to be busy with Minecon, Dinnerbone is going to take some time off soon. And one of the other devs is going to take a break too. Or something like that from what I've heard.
