Leave it to Mojang to forget up an area of the game they barely paid attention to in the first place. Why can't the ocean just have some god damn coral reefs, a bunch of loving fish, and maybe a hostile mob or two that will shred you to bits or suck your face off.

I just need a pretty spawn for a semi-vanilla survival server I'm going to be putting up. A castle theme would be nice, I think. I'd be willing to pay $15-30 if it's a really nice spawn, since I suck ass at building

I'm also willing to offer staff positions. I can write some plugins if need be, I'll just need people to watch the server/build/offer ideas and we'll be golden.
