I always had islandic landscapes

I made my base on an island, it's a small tower with a bottom room and all sorts of mobs come at night, I've hit this weird rock that I can't dig (Obsidian?) can diamond pickaxes mine it out?

It might be bedrock, meaning you're near the bottom of the map. Can you give a ebtter description of it or image of it?

it looks like random lines of light grey, grey, brown, and black

Bedrock/Adminite, it's unbreakable. Be careful digging around that low on the map because you might dig into the bottom of a pool of lava.
