I found that if you spawn it through console (give "name" 62) it works fine. But, that was quite old idk

2nd update

Client:

* You can now press enter from the “join server” screen instead of clicking the button
* Fixed a bug with potentially invisible players

Server:

* New command: “tp <player1> <player2>”, moves player1 to player2’s location.
* New command: “save-all” forces a full save to disc
* New command: “save-off” disables all saving (except save-all)
* New command: “save-on” re-enables saving

SMP sure doesn't seem to like partial blocks for me, like stairs and doors

I don't think your able to exit doors. Stairs worked fine for me I think.

Also, is it good to build a castle, and a mine, and grow some trees in the mine?

Sometimes you have to open and close doors with left click to get through them.

The lack of working furnaces in SMP is very discouraging. No minecarts, no glass, no tools better than stone.
