Oh god I think Creepers are intelligent

There's a massive cave right below my mine that constantly spawns mobs, and there was a Creeper jumping below me to try and get me, but after a few seconds it turned around and tried to climb up the stairs that I made to climb out of the cave when I first found it

It was unsuccessful but I'm still unsettled
