Author Topic: Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it  (Read 6779662 times)

Wait what?
Next Tuesday sees a new update for Minecraft, and Rock, Paper, Shotgun can exclusively reveal it will contain… beds!
When it first appears next week, building yourself a bed will mean you can skip night times by taking a nap, and jump up to catch the dawn, ready to continue your daylight explorations. That’s phase one.

Phase 2 will have a larger impact on how you play. Some time next month another update will appear that means the last bed you slept in will be your new respawn point.

woo changeable respawn points!

Oh, sorry, I forgot to tell you that you have to make that into a .bat, if you're running Windows that is, not sure about Linux or Mac.

How! D:

Is there a place where I can buy a slime or creeper plush doll?

How! D:
1. Make text document.
2. Paste that stuff in.
3. Save as "blahBlahBlah.bat"
4. Move to folder with server jar, has to be a jar and not the exe. Downloaded at same place as the exe.
5. Run it.
6. ???
7. Profit

What exactly does it do? How much more RAM does it use? Or does the .bat put RAM usage to "No Limit"

Even better question, does Minecraft take full advantage of 64 bit OS? Like use 6 Gb of RAM? (Provided you have the RAM)

His server was peaking at the default 512mb of ram, and couldn't keep up. This prevents that, but uses more resources.
With that code, ram usage is doubled to 1024, or 1gb.
No

Real men play minecraft with a creeper and wear brain slimes as they smash diamond with their fists.

Hi anybody don't set camera distance to 1 kthx

That was tile size 128, camera distance 1, 4x AA, full alpha PNG format map with 3 zoom levels
10 zoom levels probably would have been more like 15GB or more

Took just under 11 hours to render too and that's only a 2MB world. So yeah don't go nuts with Minetographer, lesson learned
