The solid blue block is Lapiz Lazuli block: 9 pieces of the ore. The other is wierd.

In other news:
- Beds are certainly glitched. Used bed all excited about not having to face the night; woke up with a creeper which promptly exploded.
- Keep getting random freezes which last about 30-40 seconds then stop. Got killed by yet another creeper in this way.
- Entering your BL_ID for a seed is probably not a good idea. Mine (6743) spawned me in the middle of a desert and I had to waste most of the day searching across open landscape for a tree. Found iron and gold before coal...wierd.

I found Iron before Coal too.

I also have a stuffload of caves around my spawn.

Oh and the bed and freezing stuff must be your computer.
However I play on peaceful

You can share seeds with other, which means you can share worlds with other people.

 - Create new world
 - Box appears for enter name and seed
 - Enter a number in the SEED box.

Done

You only get to enter a seed for a NEW world when you create it.
