I put mine in (1279) and I spawned right on top of two veins of coal. Just below my feet. Just there.
And there's also a big stone plateau in the distance a bit. The top of a tree is cut off from it o:

Don't do this. Deleting this folder would delete your saves. Open AppData\.minecraft\bin\ and delete the "version" file.
