Completing or near-completing the flying pig one seems to trigger weather. Yay.

Just spent an hour de-icing and de-snowing the grounds of my castle (which I built on a lake) intending to place dirt, stone and wood flooring after I'd finished it. Got half way across and it snowed and the lake froze again.

Damn.

Moral of the story: Don't build on a lake in tundra.

anyone know if the amount of rain fall depends on the biome?

anyone know if the amount of rain fall depends on the biome?

I downloaded a map from the MC forums that the owner saved just when it was raining.
Then after I went on one of my main worlds to make my super awesome When Pigs Fly achievement preparation, it started raining with no difference of that map. I think my biome was a savanna near to a tundra biome so I don't think it does.

Notch changed the grass-side texture to accommodate the fix.

it only rained 3 times for me, all at night.
2 of them happened randomly, and one was when i heard rain in the middle of my mine.
