minecraft crashes with an error message like this:

"minecraft has not allocated enough memory"

how2fix?
Obtain RAM

OR

Lower the render distance and graphics quality.

Obtain RAM.
but
but i have 4 gigs of ram

wtf is going on here?

Try and run Java with more RAM allocated to it.

How to get more than 5FPS in minecraft? I have it at fast, render distance at tiny most of the time OpenGL on and the whatever it's called on Max FPS

Edit

One of the reasons why it lags so much is because java uses around 75-85% of my CPU :V

Google.

Or close any unnecessary stuff in the background, which most of the time is the cause anyway even with 4GB of RAM.

Minecraft is a RAM intensive process.  As you walk around the game actively loads and unloads chunks of the game world into your RAM.  I have 6GB and yet Minecraft uses up 30-35% of it (roughly 2GB, hory sheet!)

If you're the kind of person that has a bunch of Internet Explorer tabs open in the background, hosting TF2, etc. in the background while playing this game on 4GB of RAM, you're probably getting "running out of memory" errors the most.

I've never began running out of memory even when using my laptop to play Minecraft with 2GB of RAM.

It's just minecraft. And that's it.

Uhm.

Am I lucky that I've never had an out of memory error?

and that I can have bl, minecraft, and Battlefield 1942 running at once and still run the same as in 2 to 5 fps?

someone host im bored :c

Minecraft decided to kill my Video card. Whenever i play it for like 10 minutes it causes my video card to fail

my friend has 4g memory. but crashes every 15 min because of memory shortage.

we tried everything, short of him FINALLY reformatting if he ever does. but his comp is a huge clutter mess, i am almost sure a clean slate would fix the issue.
