I think Notch should make the Enderman only stare at you if you stare at them for amount of time like 3 seconds, That way you can zip your crosshair right pass them without them staring at you.

I thought you meant when you had a 1x wall that your bed was next to. That's a bug.

If you're sleeping in reach of a monster they should be able to kill you.

Wasteland mod should be incoporated into Vanilla as a gamemode. It really is giving me a perspective on how important wood is. I have 11 logs, 6 sticks, and that's it for now. :O

I think that's gonna be the only way you'll be able to kill it, without traps and such.

As far as Notch has described it, Enderman sounds overpowered. So it'd be smartest for Mojang to put something like just keeping the reticle on him to keep him frozen so you can kill him.
