Yes. Servers are like giant cities with no survivial aspect at all. There's no fun in that.
I hate the entire exchange part of that mod, but the rings and whatnot look amazing.

don't give a stuff if someone griefs, you should build far away where no one can find you, or seek safety in numbers

where no one cares if you steal*, because it's the person's who left his chests unattended (and home) fault

stuff like that, I don't want PvP off or have to go to an arena, nor do I want 100 bukkit mods disabling me from even entering a persons house because they fear you'll grief or something.

Eh, same. Because if you're going to not be able to leave your house and then everyone steals your stuff every time you leave your house, it'll probably get boring staying at home all day guarding chests.

Hard to decide. I've been wanting NPC villages for a LONG time, so I'd have to say that's my most anticipated feature. I'm still partial to the ruins and strongholds, new terrain features too. 1.8 as a whole is going to be amazing.

chargeable bows and more farming options. rivers are pretty badass too.


funfact: the new minecraft rivers are technically small fjords, because they connect to the ocean but do not flow.

yeah. it ruins a perfect game when you have a protected chest with like lockette or something. it's the exact same thing as banning for stealing. it doesn't enable it. vanilla servers are lies now as well because they still like lockette

once again, this is why I said you can build really far away and hidden. It's your fault if you build it out in the open next to the spawn, or if you have a group of friends, someone else can stand guard.

if you leave, you can either hide your chests or put your valuables in your inventory.

Really, that takes lots of fun out of the game. There's no locks in vanilla, there shouldn't be. It's not a town server where everyone is right next to each other either. It's not hard to hide a chest around the world of minecraft. Stealing is part of survival, and I'm sure some of you guys will steal the stuff from 1.8 NPC villages. You wouldn't say "oh you cant steal from the NPC villages, that's bad and against the rules they should have locks".

Well not quite. Notch altered the code to make the height limit very easy to change, but it will stay at 128 unless you mod it. The value can be set to 256, 512, 1024, etc.

you basically want minevraft with chat, which IMO is loving handicapped. if you go to a multiplayer server to build far away from everyone else you might as well play smp with a chatroom open.
