I'm playing on a Windows 7 and pre2 works just fine.

I made a .bat that does "java -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp Minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame" but in insta-closes. Plus, that method is listed for Linux/Ubuntu.

It works fine for me and I'm on Windows XP.

Good to see they came out with a less buggy pre-release though, framerate is still an issue, but it's better than what it used to be.

It says "java" isn't recognized as an internal command. I just updated my Java, unless I did the wrong kind...

Mine didn't work for a second, and it didn't login, but I restarted it, and it worked out fine. Pretty weird.

Probably not. It displays that when you're not connected to the Minecraft server. Even if you legitimately bought the game.
