You can still use planks as a fuel source. And sticks. Did you not know this? And you can also use most every wooden furniture item haha.

I also found a ravine right by my house, which there was an abandoned mine right under that, and then another ravine right by that, the abandoned mine was connected to an old fashioned dungeon.
