wait so, to clarify, The winter biomes were removed with the new terrain gen, but 1.9 is bringing them back?

They accidentally broke snowy biome generation in 1.8. 1.9 fixes it. I found a HUGE ass snow biome, went on forever.

Apparently, 1.9 has yet more new generation code. Maybe it's just how they fixed snow or added Mushroom Biome, but I tried a 1.8.1 world on 1.9 pre and beyond where I was is that abrupt generation change into pure ocean. Maybe they made Oceans more common so Mushroom Biomes had a place to appear?

That's such an awesome generation mesh 1.8.1 to 1.9 pre. Too bad updating blocks around it will cause a flood.

villages need to be replaces with normal villagers, everything else is ok other than the tons of glitches. i'll be on 1.8 for now, 1.9 pre is cool and all but it's too bugged for conventional play.
