I bought minecraft today, and I got an "out of memory" error. I have had this computer for 3 years, and I did everything the tutorial says on the minecraft forums. I am very confused, thank you. :)

try this.

"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx2G -Xms1G -jar Minecraft.exe

make a .bat file in nopepad, paste this text in and save the .bat in the same place as your minecraft.exe

as long as you have 64-bit java it should work.
