Author Topic: Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it  (Read 6817341 times)

Actually, you're late.
Nonsense! You are the late one here, my good sir.

Right now I'm on the hunt for slimes. I need them for my sticky pistons for my secret bookcase door :D. Exploring this cavern right near bedrock for my slimes since they only spawn down there.

EDIT: So I have this ravine I took all the lava out and hoping it's big enough for slimes to spawn in but I'm really scared since skeletons and creepers keep patrolling it :/

Eww, too much sand. Needs more sea, grass, and some snow. Maybe even a volcano at the side.
That looks horrible with a giant mountain desert in the middle of beautiful grass plains

If I didn't like my Black Mesa wallpaper so much I would use this.

Even though it's been posted before, it's still as pretty as ever. Though multi-colored backgrounds look horrible on my desktop for some reason, probably because of all the icons, gadgets, fences, etc. That's why I use one of the most appealing yet simple desktop backgrounds ever lol.

sorry i already sig'd it first
:)

And I made it. I wanted to do something about it with Minecraft... Kinda half assed it for the sake of time.

Finding Slimes is easy when you have a giant cavern at Bedrock level made using the Destruction Catalyst, but otherwise it's a pain in the ass.

I need slime balls to make Magma Cream so I can brew some Fire Resist potions and murder more Blazes

...when did Minecraft become WoW, lol

GameChap showed that not are Blazes damaged by snowballs, enough of the can basically instant kill a bunch of Blazes. You should try making Snow Golems in The Nether and sick them on Blazes.

I believe Jeb said there's no 100% sure method, but following lava lakes is a good plan.

i loving hate swamp biomes
water everywhere
and lili pads so i can't loving maneuver a boat correctly

The Swamp Biomes need to be gradient mapped to not be so ugly drastic into other biomes, but Lily Pads can be useful if used in the ocean. You can use them to make a cheap ass bridge without building from the bottom up and/or standing on the edge to add more.

With the new release, all the water in my world rapidly becomes ice... O.o

Beta 1.8(.1) had a bug where Snow Biomes didn't generate. The versions after that added them back, but it seems like in a lot of cases, they are generated over the player's territory. Basically, your whole area is now technically a Snow Biome. This causes problems with Skyblock, since it ended up in the middle of a massive Snow Biome since the Pre-release updates. Your cobblestone generator keeps freezing.

Really, because I hunted for Portals in Creative on two separate occasions and digging straight down where the Eyes lead brought me into the Stronghold and nowhere near the Portal

Yes really. I go to the exact block it falls through, and it is always directly above the third frame block in the frame right against the stair. Something must be wrong with your searching skills.

I just found a ravine with the entire bottom layer being nothing but lava. :O

Actually, is there something about ravine generation that specifically does this, or is it just some open space lava pool script that comes about when a ravine is low enough? Curious.

lol'd

Hahaha. He didn't realize Hardcore is now the second option and not Creative. Obviously didn't play the Pre-releases. Also should look around before walking.

Nice repost of that image from a few hundred pages back people forgot. :) As others said a few days ago when it was posted, it's not actually in Minecraft. Look at the edges of the "blocks."

Damn Science, you're tearing this place up.

So my branch mine has been pretty successful. Found 30 iron just from two branches, I'm going to be getting some new armor.
