I started mining in the standard fashion again, (The standard fashion being the classic two block high straight line.) and I am constantly finding diamonds. I am guessing this is because of that new fantastic code that Notch added that makes diamonds appear in the chunk you are digging in. By constantly, I mean day 5 = 14 diamonds.
