It's not a very big one, just going to add beaches, eggs that can be used in Creative, and some bug fixes. There's also supposed to be a modding API coming out soon, which I think it just great.
and smoothed swamp transitions and more hilly terrain, plus a new apples recipe.
if you count everything that's been done in prereleases, sheep eat
grass, you can get apples from trees with a small chance, farmland cannot be trampled, void fog was removed, more languages, more splashes, all music discs obtainable from skeletons killing creepers, reduced brewing time, decreased randomness of enchanting tables, and a fixed fence gate hitbox.
i'd call that moderately big.
