Why does nobody seem to use Smart Moving on their servers?
Look at this stuff, try it, it's pretty much the best. Enables stuff like climbing up ledges (at waist height fairly fast, slowly if it's at head height), charged jumps up to double normal height allowing you to grab ledges four blocks above you and haul yourself up (slowly), nerfs sprinting so you can't just sprint forever through the night and be safe so long as you have food to eat afterwards, changes ladder climbing and is stupidly configurable to the point where I haven't even been able to be bothered to dig through all the config options and see what can be done
(there is a little bit at the bottom of the config file on servers to force overriding client configs, which you should probably enable so people can't turn on free climbing and just spider over any obstacle forever)

Just holy stuff use it it has a bukkit server component or forge if you like inficraft and redpower on your servers and syncs nicely with the client side

Smart Moving makes everything too easy...

Cliffs are there for a reason, and grabbing ledges means that any constructed wall perfectly capable of keeping out vanilla players simply becomes a passable and slightly inconvenient obstacle.

that's why you make a better wall with an overhang and six to eight blocks tall

It also looks nicer unless you're building walls out of the dirt under your horrid peasant fingernails
Plus it was also perfectly passable before you just had to place dirt instead of crouch-jump

Do you play in 3rd person more when you're using Smart Moving?

Goddamn
I am so bad at mods.
So I think I installed Modloader; I think.
I deleted the Meta folder and put in the modloader folder, but I'm not sure if that's right; should the modloader files still be in a folder inside the jar or should they be outside any folder in the jar? Also, for new mods, should I do the same and drop the files into the jar, and not into any folder?

top of the world limit. i think the world generation forgeted up real bad because this is tall as stuff and it seems to be a forgeted up mountain biome. again, all of this touches the limit. on the very top im at y: 257 (258 is the limit)
its all totally flat on top
weird

do you seriously refuse to read the instructions on the page

That is wrong. Do not put the ModLoader folder into minecraft.jar. Move all of the files from within ModLoader into minecraft.jar. If asks permission to copy over files, always allow it.
